The Wedge looking for its own slice of St. Louis music scene
St. Louis is getting another intimate space where bands can strut their stuff.
The Wedge, 442 Bates Street, will open Oct. 17 as the space transforms from a bar to a concert club with its Iggy Ziggy room, and a fully functioning restaurant.
DJ Elemental Child will spin at 8 p.m. Oct. 17, followed by a 10 p.m. performance from GoldTooth, with a couple of surprises also hinted at.
Admission to the concert is $8-$10 at this 18-and-over venue.
Acts who’ll perform in the future include Lola van Ella and her burlesque troupe, the NonProphet Theatre Company, Left Arm, the 75s, Cassie Morngan, and more. There will also be karaoke and Tenacious Trivia.
The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. the same day, with food served through 11 p.m.
Menu consultant is Blake Brokaw of Tangerine, Hungry Buddha, and Chocolate Bar fame. Some Hi-Pointe Cafe staff will be on hand too.
