In honor of Will Smith’s St. Louis visit today to premiere his new movie “Seven Pounds,” we thought it appropriate to acknowledge his raps in this space.

After all, they laid the foundation for his eventual super stardom.

Here’s a countdown of the Grammy-winning Smith’s seven best recording hits.

7. “Girls Ain’t Nothin But Trouble” (DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince)

6. “Miami”

5. “Freakin’ It”

4. “Men in Black

3. “Just the Two of Us

2. “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It

1. “Summertime” (DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince)

The list is kept at seven songs not only to tie into the “Seven Pounds” title, but because his hits list gets iffy rather rapidly once you start looking at “Wild Wild West,” “Will 2K,” and “Nightmare on My Street.”

Was a worthy hit or two of his many hits left out, or was the list actually unbearbly long?

What about “Parents Just Don’t Understand”? That was like one his first big hits in his career.

Anytime you can improve a Kool & The Gang song, you’ll top my list. Summertime is dope.

The mere mention of his “rap hits” is unbearable…he definitely found his niche in film!

What, for the love of God, was wrong with “Wild, Wild West?” I dare to disagree…”Wild, Wild West” was incredibly hot.
