How good can a band be if they are ripping off Neil and Sly and then selling CDs with that work on it? And Crazy Horse and the Family Stone, for that matter. Does anyone know how to reach Crazy Horse, who is one of the nuttiest dudes I’ve ever met? What about the Family Stone? I know this, the minute the Family Stone hears about this, Dave Matthews is going to be cruisin for a bruisin. Busch Stadium needs better acts next time, people who write and perform their own material like Uriah Heep.

Louis18,

I am pretty convinced you don’t know much about this particular topic. First off, covering anothers music is not an insult, it is an act of paying homage to an influence and a sign of respect. If you are going to knock DMB for doing that, than you might as well knock the Beatles and Rolling Stones while you are at it. Covering ones music is probably the most common thing in music. Countless artists have gotton their start and refined their craft by doing this. Obviously, DMB does not need refining of their craft, but rather are paying respects to artists that they have jammed with before.

DMB has jammed with the likes of the Allman Brothers, Robert Randolph, the Rolling Stones, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and countless other well respected musicians, I wont bother to name them all, and yes included in that list are members of Sly and the Family Stone.

And you obviously do not know much about music if you are referring to Crazy Horse as “one of the nuttiest dudes I’ve met”. What? Crazy Horse was the band that Neil Young began with and also played with inbetween his time in CSNY and Buffalo Springfield. They are regarded as a garage band that backed Neil Young, THEY ARE A BAND, not a “dude” So you have never met Crazy Horse, unless smoking something you encountered Crazy Horse the Native American chief. Please do not post ever again.

Its obvious you have no idea what you are talking about. Other than the Neil Young track and the Sly track everything is written by the band. Just to let you know DMB and Neil Young are great friends and play each others songs all the time. Hey Hey My My is not the first and I’m sure it wont be the last. We can only hope they come back and do this again next year.

Mr. Louis18, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. PS - jump off a bridge - you’re a freaking idiot. Busch needs a better act? Selling 80k tickets isn’t strong enough? Who in the hell is Uriah Heep? Get serious and get lost.
