Living Things ready to rock again
Kevin C. Johnson

Rock band Living Things

Long MIA St. Louis rock band Living Things, one of my favorites, is finally back with its second Jive Records release, “Habeas Corpus,” led off by the single “Let It Rain.”

“Let It Rain” hits rock radio Monday and can be heard at www.livingthingsmusic.com.

The “Habeas Corpus” CD is out Feb. 17. and looks at life, love, money, religion, and war.

Singer Lillian Berlin says “in some ways I’ve looked at this whole record as a celebration of the uncertain times ahead.”

The record is produced by Michael Ilbert along with the band, and was recorded in Berlin at Hansa Studios, where the band lived for nine months.

Songs on the CD are “Snake Oil Man,” “Cost of Living,” “The Kingdom Will Fall,” “Mercedes Marxist,” “Oxygen,” “Shake Your Shimmy,” “Dirty Bombs,” “Brass Knuckles,” “Island in Your Heart,” “Post Millennium Extinction Blues,” and “Drugstore Bummin (Everybody’s Slummin”).

Says the band’s Eve Berlin: “As Americans, we really value our Constitutional right to express ourselves. When somebody says ‘rock ‘n’ roll,’ to me it means freedom, being who you are, running wild and letting it all hang out.”
