Nickelback, Slipknot announce new arena tours
Mainstream rock band Nickelback and hard rockers Slipknot announced plans for big arena tours this week, and St. Louis hasn’t made the cut.
At least not yet, that is.
Dates can always be added, blanks filled in.
Some may say we lucked out not getting those shows, but I’m always for any major tour swinging this way.
Nickelback’s Live Nation-produced tour begins Feb. 25 in Nashville, and will hit cities such as Kansas City (April 8), Moline, Il., Houston, Detroit, Philadelphia, and New Orleans, among other cities.
Seether and Saving Abel are on the bill.
Tickets are on sale Dec. 5 at www.livenation.com, and are on sale today at Nickelbackfanclub.com.
Nickelback’s first single from its “Dark Horse” CD is “Gotta Be Somebody.”
Slipknot’s tour begins Jan. 23 in St. Paul, and hits Kansas City (Jan. 24), Peoria, Indianapolis, Greensboro, Nashville, Orlando, and more.
Coheed and Cambria and Trivium are also on the bill.
An iTunes presale starts Wednesday and will be open to those who took part in the band’s digital album presale. Most dates go on sale Dec. 6.
Slipknot’s latest CD is “All Hope is Gone,” which features “Dead Memories.”
