Reports of Chingy’s recording demise exaggerated, reps say
Hip-hop outlets are widely reporting St. Louis rapper Chingy has been dropped from his contract with Def Jam/Disturbing Tha Peace.
Representatives for Chingy say it’s not as it seems.
First, they say Chingy’s split from the label is nothing new. In fact, they say it actually happened months ago, though it’s just being publicized now.
And, he wasn’t dropped. They say he asked to be released from his contract, and after some time-consuming wrangling, was allowed to walk.
Chingy’s return a couple of years ago to Ludacris/Chaka Zulu’s DTP camp was highly touted. It was at DTP where Chingy first found stardom with hits such as “Right Thurr” and “One Call Away.”
But the reunion CD, 2007’s ”Hate It or Love It,” was a good effort that failed to impress music buyers.

Chingy?
Chingy who?
Sounds like somebody from Chingy’s camp begged for this to be written and I bet you had a hard time writing this without laughing.
I really do like Chingy but this doesn’t really answer anything and still doesn’t explain why his CD’s won’t sell and why it seems like he worst the team behind him
Last I heard, Chingy was auditioning for the role of Anthony Bouvier in the stage show reprise of Designing Women.
