R.I.P. Eartha Kitt: Watch her perform “Santa Baby”
We can easily count the numerous ways we’ve loved Eartha Kitt over the years. The entertainer, who died Christmas Day of colon cancer at the age of 81, was more than a triple threat during her reign as star of stage, music, big screen, and little screen.
There was her portrayal of “Catwoman” on TV’s “Batman,” a role bungled by Halle Berry but played to purr-fection by Kitt. Then there’s her cougar-licious turn in Eddie Murphy’s “Boomerang,” where in a key comedic scene she informs Eddie Murphy she’s not wearing any panties.
And even Madonna’s take on ”Santa Baby” couldn’t get Kitt’s immortal version out of our heads.
In memory of Kitt, and in the spirit of Christmas, check out Kitt performing “Santa Baby” two years ago in front of President Bush.
