Nelly, set to perform at a Super Bowl party, knows a little something about football. Here's a promo shot from "The Longest Yard."

Nelly and St. Lunatics are headlining a Jan. 30 Coors Light party at Orlando’s Hard Rock Cafe, tied to  Super Bowl XLIII music events, according to a report in Billboard.

Super Bowl XLIII is Feb. 1 in Tampa.

The venue for the Coors Light party will be decked out with “snow machines, base camp, tents, bivouacs, mountain climbers and blasts of frosty, flavored oxygen,” all to simulate a Rocky Mountains motif.

Other Super Bowl music happenings:

– Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band is the game’s halftime show.

– Rihanna, Fall Out Boy and Lifehouse are on for the Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Bash Jan. 29 at Tampa’s Ford Amphitheatre. It’ll be broadcast live on VH1.

– Enrique Iglesias and Belanova will play a Pepsi Smash event at the Ford Amphitheatre Jan. 30, and portions will be televised on Telemundo Jan. 31.

That’s a good look for this St. Louis group. I’m still a big fan of the St. Lunatics despite waht others in this city may think of them.

I really hope that Nelly changes the connection he has with St. Louis in 2009 so that he can start to build a better fan base in his home town

maybe this will give the St. Lunatics AND Nelly the shot in the arm to produce some good music. as cool as Nelly is, that last cd was a joke and should have NEVER been released! the executive producer should be tied up and hit with EVERY unsold copy of the cd!

Copa..then I think Nelly would be beating himself. I’m pretty sure he was the executive producer of Brass Knuckles.

I do agree though that last cd was soooo beneath what Nelly is capable of.

@Steve M - are you o.k.? Do you really think that Nelly and the St. Lunatics make Thug music? I’m going to have to ask that you go sit in the corner until you get your act together. LOL

Steve,
Ms. STL is right. I don’t think real thugs would have anything to do with Nelly’s music.
But their girlfriends might…

THUG MUSIC??… WTH.. So I guess when a black person does rap music they automatically are considered thugs… Really sad that we live in such an ignorant world. To call Nelly a thug would be like calling the Backstreet Boys a rock band.

Nelly & Crew are done! Lil Wayne is the hottest thing going right now. Tickets for his January 8th show at Chaifetz were fetching far more than any wrapper to hit St. Louis. When is the last time that Nelly & Crew sold a good number of tickets. If it wasn’t for AB, Ford and a few more sponsors, these guys would be out of business.
