Jennifer Hudson performs during the 51st Annual Grammy Awards

8:00 PM — Possible Grammy dark horses Robert Plant and Alison Krauss win best pop collaboration with vocals.

8:02 PM — Jennifer Hudson triumphs in performance of “You Pulled Me Through,” in a rendition symbolic of her emerging from the darkness, and draws standing ovation.

8:11 PM — Continuing its tradition of unique pairings, Jonas Brothers and Stevie Wonder perform on each others’ hits. Nonetheless, it’s cute, right?

8:15 PM — Blink-182 is back. Did they go away?

8:16 PM — Coldplay wins best rock album, of course. We’ll be seeing more of them tonight.

8:24 PM — Katy Perry arrives onstage in a banana, for a fruit-filled performance of “I Kissed a Girl.” No, really, she did.

8:27 PM — The so-cool Estelle performs her “American Boy” with Kanye West. Did he check a mirror at any point tonight? And how can I file a lawsuit against his barber?

8:30 PM — Adele wins best new artist, which just feels so right. Her thank you speech brings to mind one of Kristen Wiig’s characters from “Saturday Night Live.”

8:38 PM — Kenny Chesney, who regularly sells out stadiums, performs. Judging from this, I’m not sure why.

8:42 PM — Record of the year goes to Plant and Krauss, which suddenly makes the album of the year race even more interesting.

8:50 PM — Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and T.I., in black tie attire, perform “Swagga Like Us” for the first time, and with M.I.A. for added effect. Me likey, I think, save for a very pregnant M.I.A. looking a fool.

8:56 PM — Paul McCartney performs “I Saw Her Standing There,” with Dave Grohl on drums. Need I say more?

Not a bad show so far. I enjoyed U2, Coldplay, J-Hud, and the Swagga Like Us performance. I am in awe of M.I.A.- performing on live television on the day her baby is due? And full of energy to boot? Amazing.

All I can say is 2 things! She really takes her job serious. But the see through outfit was a bit much!! So much for swagger….that outfit aint it!! I wasnt able to see the show yet, so I pray her performance was the bomb. All I keep hearing is there was a man following her with a bucket, just in case her water broke?! Is that true? lol
