Poll: Your take on Live on the Levee/Fair St. Louis lineup

The names are in, and we know now who’ll perform on the river front near the Gateway Arch for Live on the Levee and Fair St. Louis.

The full list of headliners are Counting Crows (July 3), Train (July 4), coming to Fair St. Louis, and Live on the Levee bringing Sonic Youth (July 17), Little Feat (July 18), Angie Stone (July 24), Gretchen Wilson (July 25), Guster (July 31), and Lupe Fiasco (Aug. 1).

I’m not mad at the lineup, and think a couple of the choices are nicely edgy, especially for a general music festival.

And it’s all free, so what’s to complain about?

But still…

What do you think of the Live on the Levee/Fair St. Louis lineups?

Sonic Youth is the only one I’d like to see off that list. They were great last time they came to the Pageant. Free show will be nice.

It is a FREE festival for in a metropolitan region with a great diversity of musical tastes. I have my favorites (sonic youth) and some less than favorites (gretchen wilson); however, I have to admit that more people will probably come for the latter than the former. All in all, I think it is a nice mix.

There are bands I don’t like, and a few bands I hate. I hate Train. Thank God that in this great country I have the freedom to not go see them.

Sonic Youth is a very cool choice. My only concern there is, will their set have any quiet parts where the hoosiers can go “WOOOOOOOOOOO”?

Counting Crows and Train are good choices; both are mainstream Bands that have had great success. I think Train sold out the Pageant the last time they came to town. The Counting Crows put on a great show last summer at Riverport.

Is it any wonder all the major acts pass StL by, with all of this whining around here? To me it looks like a pretty good mix for all sorts of music, don’t know about all ages…but for FREE! BTW, whats hoosier supposed to mean here?

Boy, St. Louisans love to complain (or maybe just the majority of people that blog and vote on things like this). A free series of concerts with some good and a few great bands. And playing in a cool spot under the Arch. It has been fun in previous years and I’m looking forward to this year. Come on STL, attitudes are contagious.
