Rap duo Unladylike

June 9 is the big day for East St. Louis female rap duo Unladylike.

That’s when the act releases its debut CD “Certified” on Def Jam. The CD features the single “Dough.”

The pair, who announced the CD’s release date on Twitter, say there hasn’t been an act like them since Salt-N-Pepa.

I would support these 2 by picking an album. The song “Dough” is one that might have to grow on me but I’m all about supporting and giving them a shot and I’m ready to see these 2 on stage at Super Jam just days after the CD release.

Wait did you say they announced this on twitter? Look at you getting all twitter informed over in twitterville.

Never said the P-D should be like the Whirl, just sayin The PD shouldn’t get scooped by the Whirl. At least The Whirl reports entertainment news before it breaks big while the P-D waits until everyone already knows the news to “break” it. Anyone that was plugged into the scene already heard this “news.” It’s easy to report what is already out there. It’s hard to recognize what’s next. Get it, yo?

That said, I guess it does make some sense since The Whirl started as an entertainment paper back in the day when St. Louis was on the Jazz/Blues map.

Now, have you heard the Block Boys? They got the skill to kill and deserve some attention from the larger media cuz it’ll help in the come up.

You keep on h8n MsSTL!

Hey Westsidecar…this isn’t me “breaking” the news of Unladylike, who most hip-hop fans here are already aware of. It’s just me announcing the CD release next week, giving that some pub so fans here know when to pick it up.
Congrats to the Whirl for “breaking” the Block Boys. There’s enough going on in this city for all of us media to break different things.

I’m hating.? Please don’t even think that. I don’t want you and the Block Boys to run up on me and do damage. Just because the Whirl wrote about these Block Boys and another paper didn’t doesn’t mean that one paper isn’t showing support or doesn’t break the news. You must not read The Blender often because if you did you would know, that Entertainment news gets broken on here all the time including concert announcements and mentions of new groups and up and coming acts. How about you work better with the Block Boys and make sure they have a good marketing and PR team in place so all the other papers and media outlets can know about them. But know that trying to shyt on somebody front porch and asking for a glass of lemonade at the same time won’t get you far.

“You keep on h8n MsSTL!” LMAO

Is Westsidecar the Block boyz manager? He sure is going hard for them. lol. I know Marco, I use to the let them perform at Dantes. I like the boys too. Unfortunately for Block Boyz this blog entry is about Unladylike so I hink we should be dicussing them instead of taking away from their shine. Like Kevin said he is announcing their album release dates. I dont think that everyone that reads the P-D doesn’t read the Whirl. There are so may blacks an white people in STL that dont read the paper unless they are told too.(hood or non hood). I love the Whirl and I enjoy their Entertainment section,JB does an awesome job on what he reports about Artists. However, dont bitch at Kevin for what he should and shouldnt do becasue Kevin actually covers a huge range of diverse topics. Thanks Kevin for showin these ladies some love. As a person in the entertainment field, I’m sure, Unlady-like is happy no matter how many times their information is shared because who doesnt like FREE advertisement? Good luck ladies! Keep on grinding i will pay off!
