The Wedge closes
The Wedge concert club and restaurant in South St. Louis, which was looking as if it had a couple of short weeks left before officially closing, hasn’t made it that far.
A Twitter message sent out over the weekend from the club stated the spot is officially done.
More information wasn’t available. The venue’s web sites aren’t updated, and calls to the club weren’t answered.

i am so sorry about this……..i was able to play there for a week the first week they opened, and brandon and that sound system were fantastic…..sorry to hear this guys, you did a great job, and from a perfomers point of view, the sound system was second to none…….
I feel for the owners and the employees.
The economy has taken quite a toll on local businesses. We should all make it a point to help out mom & pop businesses in these tough times.
Sad to watch it go. It took the mantle from the old Creepy, dusted it off, and donned it well. RIP Wedge.
It was a smoke pit. I reeked of cigarette smoke after my 15 minute stop to check it out. Then, the upstairs club wanted me to pay $12 to stand like a sardine in a smoke pit. I declined and headed to The Stable, which allow smoking on their patio, which is totally tolerable. Jeeez..I hope St. Louis goes smoke-free sometime soon!
What a bummer. RIP, Stinky Pizza!
Loved loved loved the food! Couldn’t stand the smoke. Even to pick up carry out was too much. Ate in once. Did carry out once. Never went back because of the cigarette smoke. It could have become a regular stop for us. Very sad.
They did have good sound there…anybody got a cigarette?
Why so much press on this?
Just a small corner tavern.
Most small bars come and go
with little or no media attention.
