Living Things…or is it the Ramones? It's Living Things

In a brilliant piece of casting, St. Louis rock band Living Things will portray the Ramones, an obvious hero of the band, in the upcoming movie “The Runaways.”

“The Runaways” is a biopic about the rock band led by Joan Jett, and stars “Twilight” actress Kristen Stewart, along with Dakota Fanning and Michael Shannon.

The movie is currently in production. Living Things are shooting a scene this month in which the Ramones are playing at Los Angeles’ English Disco nightclub in 1975. The band recorded a cover of “We’re a Happy Family” for the scene.

The film’s writer and director is Floria Sigismondi, who is Living Things singer Lillian Berlin’s husband.

“I love Joey Ramone,” said Berlin. “He is like the Elvis of punk. It’s a mystical, exotic vacation to step into his shoes for a moment.”

“The Runaways” is out is 2010.

The band’s new CD is “Habeas Corpus.”

Pick up the new updated edition of “On The Road With The Ramones”.
It’s such a fascinating read, you’ll have a hard time putting it down. Buy it, read it, and then revisit their albums. You’ll never look at the Ramones in the same light.
