Rockstar nightclub closes

Rockstar nightclub is closed, as reported by Riverfront Times.
Rockstar opened last year at 8658 South Broadway.
Owner Jeff Koenigs said at the time he simply wanted to present a club for the everyday Joe, something in response to the high-tech sheen of Home.
The club’s MySpace page says “We’re closed. Thanks for your support.”
Rockstar is the second south St. Louis club to close in the last few weeks, following the Wedge.

Believe it or not, that building was once owned (allegedly won in a poker game) by country music legend George Jones. It was briefly called “George Jones’ Possum Holler.”
