St. Louis rockers Brookroyal

Look out for new music from local rock band Brookroyal at Pointfest.

The band will release a new EP, “There Was a Time,”  at Pointfest, Sunday at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. The EP will be released at Pointfest before it hits Slackers, CD Warehouse, Vintage Vinyl and iTunes.

Brookroyal is sharing the Pointfest bill with Staind, Shinedown, Chevelle, Atreyu, Our Lady Peace, Hollywood Undead, Street Sweeper Social Club, Trapt, Halestorm, Evans Blue, Living Things, Copperview, Billy Boy on Poison, Burn Halo, Janus, Shaman’s Harvest, Aranda, the Veer Union, Meese, and Red Line Chemistry.

Tickets are $35.

In other Brookroyal news, guitarist Kyle Brooks is out of the band. On its MySpace page, the band writes: ”we are extremely saddened things could not work out between Kyle and the band & wish him the best of luck with his future musical endeavors.  We are still close to our dear friend and will be always.  It is unfortunate his time with us had to come to an end.  We ask our friends & fans to please trust in our judgment with this and respect our decision.”

New to the band is Jonathan “Bon” Lohman from Inimical Drive. This marks a return to Brookroyal for Lohman; he was the band’s first guitarist.
