Cafe Soul’s tributes continue tonight at the Loft
Monthly R&B open mic event Café Soul saw a particular resurgence last month with its special Michael Jackson tribute edition, and is going the tribute route again with tonight’s Café Soul at the Loft.
“Tribute to the Late Greats” is what’s in the In the Spotlight portion of Café Soul this evening.
Among the many gone-but-not-forgotten artists who’ll be honored are Aailyah, Gerald Levert, Marvin Gaye, and more, with DJ Needles spinning an intermission set full of beats by Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac.
There will also be a birthday tribute to Michael Jackson.
The evening will also include passes for the Eric Roberson concert on Sept. 9 at Black Label.
Coco Soul hosts. Admission is $10. Doors are at 8 p.m., with show time at 9 p.m.
