Nickelback

Nickelback fans coming out to tonight’s sold-out concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater are being given a quick advisory before showing up at the gates.

The band has a short list of items fans are not allowed to bring into the venue, at the band’s request, and they differ from the venue’s usual policy.

Here’s what’s you can’t bring in:

– Food of any kind

– Soft-sided collapsible coolers

Interesting, but no big deal it seems.

Hinder, Papa Roach, and Saving Abel are also on the bill for this 6 p.m. show.

Here’s a recent Nickelback set list:

– “Something in Your Mouth”

– “Because of You”

– “Photograph”

– “Figured You Out”

– “Savin’ Me”

– “Far Away”

– “Highway to Hell”

– “Gotta Be Somebody”

– “If Everyone Cared”

– “Friends in Low Places”

– “If Today Was Your Last Day”

– “Rockstar”

– “Burn It to the Ground”

– “How You Remind Me”

– “Too Bad”

Encore

– “Someday”

– “Animals”

Come on Dinger, Nickelback has a lot of good music. Unfortunately like Cheap Trick, after the 3-4 hits are played, the concert is pretty much over.

You nailed it, Dinger! A friend of mine refers to Nickelack as “talentless bastards.”

After being “earjacked” by their music in various settings where I was unable to change the radio station, I must agree with her.

Kevin, any word on non-pro cameras?

Smaller cameras without detachable lenses are allowed into the venue.

Enjoy the show.

The above comment confirming the camera policy is from a Verizon official, FYI, so enjoy the show and snap away.

That’s what always aggravates me about the camera policy. We’ve got one person from the venue saying yes, then someone else who says the group says no. So basically, we still don’t know.

We were at Green Day the other night, all cameras found were stopped at the door. During the beginning of the set, security were even stopping cell phone pictures, shining flashlights at people to get them to put cameras away. About 2nd song in, Billie Joe Armstrong stops in mid-song and admonishes security for stopping someone from taking a shot with, “Put the flashlight down, all she’s trying to do is take a picture.” It would be nice if there was some consistency here.

Can the food be digested or mayhe just eaten? I ate some cheeze its and an ice cream sandwich about an hour ago. That food is still in my stomach, I guarantee it. What am I supposed to do? I know I got rid of the grapes the morning and last night we had taco salad and that is long gone. But these cheeze its and the ice cream sandwich are probably coming with me to the show. Is there a policy? Also, I understand no soft side coolers but does this mean we can bring in big stainless steel Coleman coolers instead? Or no coolers at all?
