Concert announcement: “Star Wars” in Concert at Scottrade
“Star Wars” in Concert comes to Scottrade Center at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10.
Tickets are $32.50-$72.50, and go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 10 at Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com, 800-745-8000, and at the box office.
“Star Wars” in Concert is a multi-media event that features big visuals, a live orchestra, choir, and narration, and an exclusive exhibit of “Star Wars” costumes, props, and production artwork.
In a statement, “Star Wars” creator George Lucas said: “Creating the music for the ‘Star Wars’ films has been an exciting and wonderful experience for me, and I therefore have derived particular pleasure in assembling a compendium of themes from all of the films to be presented in ‘Star Wars’ in Concert. The editors at Lucasfilm have created original film montages to accompany each of the musical selections, and in the process, I believe that a singular and unique ‘Star Wars’ experience has been born.”

Kevin C. Johnson has covered the St. Louis' music and nightlife scene for the past decade.
Lots of nerds in one place for sure!
I wouldn’t call my 7 year old son or the many other kids who enjoy Star Wars “nerds.” Unfortunately they will be fighting for tickets with the 42 year old single guy dressed as Chewbacca who you don’t want near your kid in the first place.
In the words of Han Solo: “Let the Wookiee win”
Scottrade… for an orchestra… really?
We have two of the finest concert halls in the country (Powell and the Sheldon) from an acoustics standpoint and they’re going to the Hockey Arena.
I think I’ll stick with the SLSO’s “Music of John Williams” in November at Powell…
