Urban Ball 2009 promises music, fashion Saturday

Urban Ball 2009, “an artistic progressive fashion forward gala,” unfolds this weekend with a mixture of dinner, dance, art, music, networking, partying, red carpet/photo entrance, and more.
It’s at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Phyllis Wheatley Heritage Center.
Performing are two of the city’s most dynamic performance poets, Corey Black and Robert Dillard, along with singers Eric Richardson and Coria.
Steven Moore III hosts, and music is by DJ 76Kid.
Dinner is at 9:30 p.m. at Urban Ball.
Admission is $25 per person and $40 per couple in advance, $30 per person and $50 per couple at the door.
