Kidnapped N.Y.Times reporter is rescued in deadly raid in Afghanistan

The New York Times kept secret the war-zone kidnapping of one of its reporters, who today was rescued in a raid resulting in the death of a British commando, the reporter’s Afghan interpreter and perhaps some Afghan civilians.
