Forbes.com declares that the reigning ideology in Washington officially changed from conservative to liberal with the inauguration of Barack Obama. Forbes says: “We use those terms without apology, as they are used in American political discourse.”

To mark that declaration,  Forbes has issued its list of “nominees” for the 25 most influential liberals in the media.

The list isn’t surprising, as its members — opinion page editors, columnists, bloggers, TV personalities — wear their ideologies on their sleeves and unabashedly push their agendas.

Here’s the top 10:

  • 1.  Paul Krugman, New York Times columnist
  • 2.  Arianna Huffington, founder Huffington Post
  • 3.  Fred Hiatt, Washington Post editorial page editor
  • 4.  Thomas Friedman, New York Times columnist
  • 5.  Jon Stewart, host of the Daily Show
  • 6.  Oprah Winfrey
  • 7.  Rachel Maddow, host of the Rachel Maddow Show
  • 8.  Joshua Micah Marshall, founder Talking Points Memo
  • 9.  David Shipley, New York Times op-ed editor
  • 10. Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, founder of the Daily Kos

That’s nice.

Say, you didn’t happen to hear about Pres Obama telling a couple of Whitehouse press corps reporters to piss off yesterday, did you? No? Oh, that’s right. You guys don’t write stories about presidents who happen to be arrogant, thin-skinned jerks unless they are of a certain political party.

G-F, no I did not hear him tell reporters to “piss off”. i did hear him tell them he was not there to do anything more that congratulate Gibbs on his first press conference and did not want to answer questions. Of course I have no doubt you heard what you wanted.

Is this Steve Forbes gift to the RNC to save them the trouble? One Nobel Prize Laureate and one Pulitzer Prize winner in the group.

You couldn’t find a loonier group than that above. Every one of them thinks they are smarter than every other one of them (and us as well).

This is insane.
Fred Hiatt? Thomas Friedman? Liberals? I don’t think so.
Also, Maureen Dowd and Christopher Hitchens are on Forbes list of 25.
Me thinks Forbes wouldn’t know a liberal if one bit them in the rear.

I have to admit that I am physically repulsed by the sight and sound of each one of those people. I used to like Friedman, but his global world/global warming whining did it for me. However, I have been wondering why Obama did not pick Krugman, a real economist, for the Treasury job. He probably actually likes to pay his taxes. I do try to catch Stewart occasionally.

Considering they award Nobels and Pulitzers to mass murderers and plagiarists, I don’t place as much stock in them as some people.

Obama threw reporters off his campaign plane for daring to report actual news, he set his minions loose to trash the reputation of a private citizen for the audicity of asking a simple question, and he gets huffy when his waffles get cold.

I’d say his actions speak louder than words.

“Left” off the list is Buggs Bunny and Daffy Duck. “I thought I saw a puddi kat”

I’m really surprised that Keith Olbermann didn’t crack the top 10. Friedman and Hiatt don’t belong there at all.

Also, why do right-wing pundits consistently fail to see that Jon Stewart is nothing more than a late-night satirist? He doesn’t even take himself seriously.
