NYT lists Claire McCaskill among Barack Obama’s key players

As former St. Louis Post-Dispatch political reporter Jo Mannies noted this morning in the Political Fix blog, Sen. Claire McCaskill was listed among 52 “Obama’s People” in the New York Times Magazine this past Sunday.
McCaskill was an early backer of Obama, endorsing him in January 2008. His win in Missouri’s primary the next month immediately boosted her standing as a political broker in the state, Mannies reported then.
Former Post-Dispatch Washington Bureau reporter Deirdre Shesgreen took note of McCaskill’s rising national status in a July 23, 2008 story — “McCaskill’s star soars with Obama.”
