Rush Limbaugh’s challenge to MSNBC to ignore him for a month was answered by the cable network’s Keith Olbermann, who said he’d accept the challenge if Limbaugh went a month without talking about himself.

Limbaugh issued his challenge Tuesday on his radio show:

“Thirty days without anything mentioning me. No video of me, no guests commenting on me. See if you can do it. You know, stand on your own two feet. Stand on liberalism. Stand on what you believe. Stop bleeding off me.”

Olbermann’s conditional “acceptance” came Wednesday:

“…provided you go 30 days on your program without mentioning what has been done or said or boasted about by Rush Limbaugh. Hannity would last longer on the waterboard.”

Associated Press TV writer David Bauder explains that Hannity reference:

Olbermann recently offered to donate money to charity if Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity undergoes waterboarding (the two men are on opposite sides of the torture debate, along with most every other issue).

AP asked Limbaugh for his response to Olbermann’s counter-challenge, and Limbaugh emailed: “That’s incoherent.”

Yeah, Limbaugh not mentioning himself — even for five minutes. Like that’s going to happen. Since Limbaugh has `talent on loan from God,’ isn’t he just giving glory to God’s work by mentioning himself so often? I mean, what type of red-blooded American would be against someone giving glory to God’s work? Only a Commie-Pinko atheist would be against such a thing.

Keith Olberman is to the Left what Rush Limbaugh is to the Right, an extremist blubbering pie hole. Most reasonable people exist somewhere right in the middle of these two nimrods. Both should be ignored.

ibentru,
Comparing Limbaugh to Olbermann is slander at best. They come no where close to opposite extremist. Limbaugh gives the facts that the mainstream media like Olbermann ignore or suppress. Limbaugh is mainstream conservative and I beg you to prove with facts that he is not. This media campaign to discredit him as a far right wing nut obviously has worked on you. You should listen to Rush for awhile it might wake you up to reality and exactly where Obama is trying to take this country.

I guess what USF1965 is trying to say is all mainstream conservatives are addicted to perscription drugs and want America to fail.

FRED,
Your comments are not really worth responding. So what if he got addicted to pain killers. I know plenty of people who have problems with alcohol and other drugs. It does not make them bad people it shows they are human. Hey I am not saying Rush is 100% perfect no one is, oh I am sorry for all you people who believe Obama is Allah. Obviously you do not listen to Rush’s show you just spew what Olbermann tells you “America to fail” I also want Obama to fail if he gets re-elected our dollar will be worthless and our Supreme Court will be full of gays telling my kids they have to read “Daddy’s Partner” for a class assignment.

Olbermann is a dupe, a media plant. He’s a pressure relief valve for the middle class to make it seem as if someone out there in the media still cares. It’s absolutely laughable the stage show that’s put on. The “angry middle class” listens to Olbermann vent for them, then they think “someone’s on top of it” and they go back to sleep. If Olbermann was true to his word he wouldn’t be mugging it up on the air in his $10k Armani suits and he’d put his Florsheims to the pavement and be out protesting amongst the masses. But as usual he’s just part of the Vaudeville show called “TeeVee”. Don’t buy it folks. He’s a sugar pill designed to calm you down.

P.S. Limbaugh is a crackpot, a draft dodging warmonger like Cheney and Bush. Lazy, no account, laying around being taken care of on “Daddy’s Money” and then try to act is he were a man of the people. I’d like to see Limbaugh have rotten vegetables thrown at him at the next event he attends. He’s a loser and psychopath like his neo-con, Isreal First, handlers.

When Rush Limbaugh ‘brags’ about himself, it’s tongue-in-cheek. It’s the ‘entertainment’ side of Rush, as opposed to the issues-oriented side of Rush.

You’d think Keith Olbermann would recognize that.

People listen to Rush Limbaugh because they receive excellent commentary on the issues of the day, humorous parodies of many of today’s liberal personalities - and all of it in a very entertaining package.

Rush doesn’t take himself seriously - but he takes his viewpoints VERY seriously - and most people are able to tell the difference.

It’s why he’s had a listenership of 20,000,000 people since 1988.
