Media outlets use peeping tom video for peeping tom story
So some lowlife surreptiously videotapes an ESPN reporter naked in her hotel room and posts the video on the web, and media outlets use the video (with some body parts fuzzed out) while cluck-clucking about what a horrible thing this peeping tom video was.
Reporter Erin Andrews authorized her attorney to release a statement about the events, according to this story from Media Matters:
“While alone in the privacy of her hotel room, Erin Andrews was surreptitiously videotaped without her knowledge or consent. She was the victim of a crime and is taking action to protect herself and help ensure that others are not similarly violated in the future. Although the perpetrator or perpetrators of this criminal act have not yet been identified, when they are identified she intends to bring both civil and criminal charges against them and against anyone who has published the material. We request respect of Erin’s privacy at this time, while she and her representatives are working with the authorities.”
In response to the use of the video, Media Matters reports, “David Pahl, ESPN’s general counsel, said in a written statement to at least one Web site that ‘These pictures were obviously taken through a peephole or otherwise in a fashion constituting a trespass/assault on the rights of the woman involved.
‘Your continued posting of these pictures are highly likely to render you an accessory after the fact to a criminal act. We hereby demand that you (i) immediately remove these pictures from your site and (ii) disclose to us the source of the pictures. We intend to hold you fully responsible for further display of material that so obviously violates the law.’”
What do you think? Should media outlets use clips from this illegally obtained video?

Uh, no. I can’t believe this is even a question.
Agreed - why is this a question ?
where can i find a link? Erin is hot
She’s a media whore anyway. This is the exact kind of attention she was craving. She’ll do a spread (no pun) in Hustler or the like and be fawned over by Fox News as SUPER HOT and in no time she’ll be hawking the Corporate Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and telling the sheeple what their opinion is. She’s just the type that Fox watchers want to masterbate to the war with.
Hell No
Are we stooping so low that we even have to ask the question. If media outlets won’t even post the names of rape victims, certainly this “video rape” of her qualifies. It should never have been posted and once it was “HONEST” journalism outlets should not have furthered its promotion. Those that post it are as sick as the person who took it.
Erin should use a reverse peephole. Then she can see inside if someone is going to attack her with a sack of pennies. You can never be too sure.
People no longer stop to consider the legal aspects, or the personal pain or embarrasment they’ll cause other people. What is it they say? Oh yeah, so sue me. And so, they should have their pants sued off. No pun intended.
How do we know that she didn’t do this herself? Perhaps she’s doing this as some sort of media ploy to bring attention to herself. Did anyone stop to think about that?
No! Don’t do it! Shouldn’t do it! No way! Forget about it! Absolutely not!
