Sarah Palin says the main stream media bungled its coverage of her surprise resignation. Palin ended a July 4th posting on her Facebook page with this swipe at the media:

The response in the main stream media has been most predictable, ironic, and as always, detached from the lives of ordinary Americans who are sick of the “politics of personal destruction”. How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it’s about country. And though it’s honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make. But every American understands what it takes to make a decision because it’s right for all, including your family.

I shared with you yesterday my heartfelt and candid reasons for this change; I’ve never thought I needed a title before one’s name to forge progress in America. I am now looking ahead and how we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint. I hope you will join me. Now is the time to rebuild and help our nation achieve greatness!

God bless you! And I look forward to making a difference - with you!

“How sad that Washington and the media will never understand…” Many were quick to acknowledge that statement.

This is from professed liberal Eric Alterman’s blog on the Daily Beast web site:

Say what you will about the still-governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin. She sure knows how to separate the metaphorical men from the boys. How many figures of her national stature — for better or worse — could make so dramatic an announcement as she did on Friday afternoon and leave the rest of the country with no idea whatsoever what the hell it meant? Is it good for her or bad? Is it good for the country or bad? Is it brilliant? Is it nuts? Is she nuts?…

Politico reported Sunday that some key Republicans were perplexed by Palin’s actions:

Former Bush adviser Karl Rove and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee both seemed to be scratching their heads over Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s decision to resign her office in an appearance along with Alaska Lt. Gov Sean Parnell on “Fox News Sunday.”

The article quotes Huckabee: “You don’t call a press conference to create questions, you call one to resolve them.”

Maybe it’s just me, but it seems as if everyone but Sarah Palin makes mistakes.

Wow, imagine that, another place to discuss Sarah Palin. I am STILL waiting for a post where we can discuss that detestible non-comic Frankin fraud who is the new Senator. Why has no journalist disected his life and spilled his guts all over the media? I don’t know one thing about his family other than he has a wife named Franni - yes, Franni Frankin. The joker went from the comedy stage to the clown act in the Senate and no where was there a post in the P-D blog for discussion of it. What a double-standard.

No, only one standard.

Missourians could see Gov. Palin’s name on a ballot.

But not Sen.-elect Franken’s.

The end.

I wish S. Palin luck, I’m sure she’ll make lots of $$ on the speaker circuit and pop up as a guest commentator on FNC. It will be much harder though, to cry in a bag of money.
Dear(far from) a centrist,
before you start a dissection of Mr. F R A N K E N, you need to spell his name correctly — it will be much easier to dig up the dirt you evidently desire. You also may want to check out Bill McC’s column (7-5-09) on COD.

A Centrist… Was Al Franken an unknown on the national stage before his candidacy? No. Why is this so hard to fathom? Well, look who I’m asking…

enoughofthis… Spelling is not A Centrist’s forte. Not sure what is, but it definitely isn’t spelling.

There’s something pyscho about a person who quits her job, then tells everyone she didn’t quit. No sense of obligation to her electorate or to semantics either.

We’ve become a very scary country indeed, seeing that so many find Ms. Palin to be the type of top-notch, political intellectual they want running the country. Didn’t we just unload someone just like her?

Jed, we just elected one.

I’m a Palin fan but believe she needs to keep her comments (although correct) about the media to herself. The media only does favors for liberal idiots and talking about them only fuels the fire.

Palin needs to focus on why she left and what her future entails. Our country is going to hell with an out of control government run by a pathological liar. Palin, other Independents, and Republicans need to get out a cohesive message that will resonate with the American public. Obama, while still popular, is seeing the popularity for his programs continue to slide with an American public that is getting sick of the bloated government spending. I don’t believe one blogger here has benefited from Obama’s “stimulus” package..or am I incorrect?

Yep, Palin needs to take a vacation and let the oddball Michael Jackson take center stage for now. Whether or not she can rebound from the media hatefest will be interesting to see.

Caribou Barbie is getting so bizarre that even GOPTV is criticizing her.
