The Associated Press’ Matthew Barakat decided to catch up with Jayson Blair — one of journalism’s most infamous names.

Blair resigned from the New York Times in 2003 after committing a battery of journalistic sins. From the Times in 2003:

The widespread fabrication and plagiarism represent a profound betrayal of trust and a low point in the 152-year history of the newspaper.

The reporter, Jayson Blair, misled readers and Times colleagues with dispatches that purported to be from Maryland, Texas and other states, when often he was far away, in New York. He fabricated comments. He concocted scenes. He lifted material from other newspapers and wire services. He selected details from photographs to create the impression he had been somewhere or seen someone, when he had not.

So where did he land? AP’s Barakat reports that for the past two years he has been “working as a certified life coach for one of the most respected mental health practices in northern Virginia.”

Blair told Barakat:

“People say, ‘Wait a minute. You’re a life coach?’ That makes no sense.’ Then they think about my life experiences and what I’ve been through and they say ‘Wait a minute. It does make sense.’”

I would have guessed the Obama Administration. That’s where a lot of hack journalists have gone.

No, it doesn’t make sense. I’m not sure what Blair should be doing, but this is much too good for him.

Can we get an update on Jack Kelley as well? And I don’t recall her name, but what about the woman reporter who concocted the nine-year-old heroin addict (who I believe initially won a Pulitzer Prize)?

I came up with her name: Janet Cooke. And the make-believe kid was an eight-year-old.

I fugured that he’d live in a van down by the river.

Jayson Blair … Janet Cooke … EJ Rotert

I see a pattern developing.

Quick! Somebody check to see if he is plagiarizing Tony Robbins.

Ill-equipped Roturd and Blair could couple their expertise and shed life lessons on misleading, stealing and lying. These victims might eventually “earn” advanced degrees for their wayward characteristics and then become spokespersons for B.O.’s chronic stench. After all, anybody would be better than Goofy Gibbs.

BobZ and hairball… Are you implying I’ve made up information as a reporter? If so, please continue. And, if you do, I can cite plenty of references who will dispute your accusations.

Really, please go ahead. But first, I’ll ask if you know the law relating to character assassination?

Now, do you have the backbone to continue?

“Are you implying I’ve made up information as a reporter?”
… provide a link and we’d be happy to review your body of work

“But first, I’ll ask if you know the law relating to character assassination?”
… would that apply to the way you make an a$$hat of yourself re: Sarah Palin??

“Now, do you have the backbone to continue?”
… ooooh, a chilling threat to free speech

BobZZZZZ… It has been documented Sarah Palin has tried to mislead the public (i.e., `Bridge to Nowhere’). Palin has also served as a governor and run for vice president. Her protection against libel and slander is much more diminished than that of any reporter (note: `reporter,’ not `columnist’ — most specifically, `syndicated’ columnist). But keep it up, Bob.

As to my body of work, much of it can be reviewed through the morgues of the Southeast Missourian and the Belleville News-Democrat — if you really care to put in the effort. Also, I have work posted on Newsvine.com and MySTLToday.com. Or, I can provide you with references. Your move, Bob.
