Sarah Palin remains popular among GOP base, Politico reports
Yesterday, word came that Sarah Palin had finished her memoir, “Going Rogue,” after four months. The earlier finish moves the release date up from spring to Nov. 17. And last Wednesday, Palin spoke to investors and bankers in Hong Kong, leading the Associated Press’ Jeremiah Marquez to write that she was “possibly laying the first brick for a 2012 White House bid.”
If so, Politico reports today that the GOP response may be favorable. In an article headlined “Republican base still wild about Sarah Palin,” Michael Falcone and Zachary Abrahamson report:
Despite a torrent of criticism from the media, Democrats and even some in her own party, Sarah Palin remains the hottest brand name in politics.
Her recent resignation was perplexing. It’s raised doubts about her viability as a potential presidential candidate. Still, she remains extremely popular with the GOP grass roots, and most Republican Party leaders would jump at the chance to have her headline one of their events.
That’s the picture that emerges from interviews with dozens of GOP state and local leaders from across the country.
The article says the GOP leaders interviewed frequently put Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney “a cut above Palin” as a presidential candidate.
The article concludes:
Another Palm Beach County Republican, state committeeman Pete Feaman, argued that Palin has been misunderstood and that, at least among Republican voters, her support is durable.
“Republicans love Sarah Palin whether she’s a presidential candidate, a governor or an ordinary citizen,” he said. “It’s interesting that inside-the-Beltway people have no clue how much she is really loved.”

20 bucks says the liberal lunatic base hits 60 comments on this topic
Sarah Palin is a socialist who taxed oil companies in order to spread the wealth to Alaskans. She won her first political race by accusing her opponent, a Christian, of being an unmarried atheist because his wife didn’t take his last name. She used her office as governor for personal gain in order to punish her brother-in-law.
Of course Palin is popular among people who love “Mean Girls” and who wish they could use government for personal gain. She’s also popular among rural voters who wish they could take torches and pitchforks to big cities like Kansas City or St. Louis.
But a conservative she is NOT.
Outside of his brave military service, John McCain’s greatest accomplishment was introducing the country to this woman.
I’ll definitely be purchasing the book.
If she is any denser, she would be walking upside down. Even we cannot elect this moron. And please - even Bush was shocked when McCain chose her! Well - correction - forced to choose her because of the nutty right wing base. And he paid a dear price for that, didn’t he?
Oh Sedona Sam, and 30 bucks says she didn’t even write one page of that book. Just like all her speaches. Because we all know what she is - fake.
Palin have laid way to much on the line, like her or not.The canidates that become Presidents are the ones that “comes out of the blue”.Way to much damaged goods there. She like that Democrat that screamed “whoppee” a while back and had it backfired on him.
Palin is an absolute dunce. The repubs deserve her. Anyone going on a basic interview should know SOMETHING about the job they’re considering. How many times did she flub that question, and then later STILL couldn’t come up with an answer. Common sense would dictate. AIR HEAD
And another thing, people used to love Brittany Spears too. Rememeber when she was so fresh and new? Look what an idiot she turned out to be.
Let her run, she’s a sure loser.
Didn’t vote for her last time, probably wouldn’t next time either, because I don’t think she was right for the job.
But I get so tickled at the way liberals get worked up over her. They just can’t seem to understand that she is so likable to many people, she has some decent values, and seems to be a nice person.
And while I don’t think she’d make a good president, I admire the way she gives a big ol’ “screw you” to the lefties who can do little more than attack her and her family personally, and call her names. (people such as David “I Wish I Was Ss Important As I Think I Am” Letterman)
I’m not even sure what the point of this article is. That some people can’t figure out why she is so liked? Why is she still news?
Who cares? Move on.
