A week’s feedback
Today’s my first day back from vacation (a week in New Orleans) and I fielded about 20 phone messages from readers who chose to leave voice messages.
Some comments:
Four callers objected to our first-year anniversary stories on the Shawn Hornbeck case. Leave the family alone, they said, enough has been written. The sticky ad that sometimes appears on Page One met with disfavor from one caller. Another thought we were wrong to name the nurse in the execution team story Sunday, despite the explanations offered in the editor’s note.

The PD are incredible hypocrites. All they ever talk about is people’s privary rights and then they go and break the law and give out this person’s name. I don’t like what he does either, but that was plain rude. Giving us the story about his history was fine, but we didn’t need to know the person’s name.
This from a paper that regularly hides the real news we need to know from us.
