Love forms on Xbox Live, then reproduces

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Who says social networking is antisocial? A pair of Xbox Live players who met as opponents in a Tom Clancy throwdown now say they’ve had a baby.

The couple allegedly met amid flying bullets during “Rainbow Six: Lockdown” and were non too friendly at first in real life, too: She is from Georgia; he’s from the Bronx. Whatever stereotypes you harbor about people from those areas these two already had in abundance.

But in what she describes as a leap of faith, the pair decided to meet, and love apparently sprouted right then, stereotypes be damned. The couple’s progeny, a girl born last September, is believed to be the first “Xbox Live baby.”

“I am so thankful for Xbox and the online community,” the new mom wrote in a message to Xbox News. “If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t have the man of my dreams and a beautiful new baby.”

Thus proving that some good can come from online gaming.
