Can your heart stand the stress of Air Traffic Chaos?
Of all the careers out there in the world that could inspire video games, that of air-traffic controller would seem to fall somewhere between mortician and convenience store clerk in the “fun” category.
Game Guy says this only because he knew a couple of ATCs once, and they never used that word to describe what they do. In fact, both suffered from stress-related heart attacks and had to quit work.
Yet that hasn’t stopped New Jersey-based publisher Majesco Entertainment from trying to break the stereotype with its new title, “Air Traffic Chaos,” due out for the Nintendo DS platform this summer. No price was announced.
Memo to Majesco: The word “chaos” just reinforces Game Guy’s initial misgivings about this title.
The way Majesco describes it, this game lets players “safely manage takeoffs, gate assignments and landings for all incoming and outgoing airport traffic for 14 different airlines in varying weather conditions,” the company said in a news release Wednesday.
All that is dispersed across five difficulty levels in three playing stages. And with Rumble Pack support, the game becomes “more realistic for aspiring air traffic controllers.”
If that’s the case, maybe Majesco should package a difibrilator with each game, too.
