Above all else, two things stand out about “Rock Band,” the outrageously popular music video game by Harmonix: the whole-band experience and the game’s music inventory.

For PlayStation 2 users, however, that last part is limited; only the 58 songs bundled with the game are available, whereas PS3 and Xbox 360 users can expand their tune libraries daily via Web downloads.

But good things are coming to those who have waited. Coming July 15, the expansion bundle “Rock Band Track Pack Volumn 1″ for PS2 adds about 20 songs from just as many artists. A similar Track Pack for Wii is expected at the same time.

“Rock Band” itself heads for Wii on June 22.

The 20 songs included in “Track Pack” span time and taste, so everyone’s bound to find something they enjoy. Altogether, the list of performers and their contributions reads as follows:

30 Seconds to Mars — “The Kill”
All American Rejects — “Move Along”
Blink–182 — “All the Small Things”
Boston — “More Than a Feeling”
David Bowie – “Moonage Daydream”
Faith No More — “We Care A Lot”
Grateful Dead — “Truckin’”
The Hives — “Die, All Right!”
KISS — “Calling Dr. Love”
Lynyrd Skynyrd — “Gimme’ Three Steps”
Nine Inch Nails — “March of the Pigs”
Oasis — “Live Forever”
Paramore — “Crushcrushcrush”
The Police — “Synchronicity II”
Queens of the Stone Age — “Little Sister”
Ramones — “Teenage Lobotomy”
Smashing Pumpkins — “Siva”
Stone Temple Pilots — “Interstate Love Song”
Weezer — “Buddy Holly”
Wolfmother — “Joker & the Thief”

“Track Pack” is expected to cost $29.99 — approximately the same price per song that PS3 and Xbox users have paid for each download.
