‘Halo 3′ is top Xbox Live game of 2008

Master Chief just keeps fighting and fighting.
The first-person shooter “Halo 3,” a star on DVD in 2007, was the star of the online gaming service Xbox Live into 2008 as well, according to Live programming director Larry Hryb in an announcement on his blog.
The game highlighting the skills and military acumen of a heavily-armed supersoldier named Master Chief outpaced such titles as “Call of Duty 4,” “Gears of War 2,” “Guitar Hero III” and “Grand Theft Auto IV.” Exactly how far ahead it led wasn’t revealed — Hryb kept the numbers to himself.
But the count is based on “UUs,” or unique users, which are defined as … uh, well, just visit the blog and see what he means.
No way. COD4 blows HALO 3 out of the water. Doesn’t even compare.
I agree with Jago. COD4 was the best game of 2008 and nothing else comes close.
apparently you two didn’t understand the article… regardless of what you THINK, halo 3 had more unique users during 2008, thus it was the “top” game of 2008. i actually only play two xbox 360 games regularly… and they are halo and GTA. the thing i don’t get about call of duty is that… i already have a shoot ‘em up game that i play online. i already paid $60 for halo, i don’t really have $60 to go buy another game that is basically the same thing when i have enough fun playing halo…. plus space and lasers are more fun than WWII and olde tyme guns any day…
nsr, your soooo wrong it’s funny. Have your mom buck up for the money. I used to play Halo 1,2 and 3. You proved the point by not knowing what your talking about. COD4 is modern warfare with today military weaponary. It’s not WWII. That’s COD5.. And I disagree anyway, I’d much rather play a 1st person shooter game that’s realistic than facing monsters and aliens that’s been done 1000 times before and is boring now. Even 5 that’s just came out is exciting with the new maps and playing live on it is better than live on any Halo game.
