I loved Legos as a kid. Couldn’t get enough of them. Owned boxes and boxes and cans and cans of plain Legos long before “themed” Lego sets came along to deny children their God-given right to be imaginative and build whatever they wanted.

And for that reason, I’ve also never warmed to the Lego renditions of video games — the ones employing Batman, Star Wars and Indiana Jones themes being most prominent. They remove all creativity from what was once intended to be just a set of building blocks.

Now, the website videogaming247 is reporting the Lego game train is laying tracks toward “Rock Band” by publisher Electronic Arts, too The software house Traveller’s Tales, a division of TT Games, supposedly will have this ode to blocky bodies ready to distribute later this year.

TT Games also hinted at a Legoized “Harry Potter” title early last month by neither acknowledging nor denying that project was in the works when queried by VG247.

EA and TT Games are not going on the record about a Lego “Rock Band,” either, VG247 said. But the publication’s unnamed source close to Traveller’s Tales is confident he has got the story pegged.

Fine, but what I’d really like to see is someone try “Rock Band” with Lincoln Logs.
