The game that’s f-bomb-tastic
If you can’t strive for excellence, at least target notoriety, Game Guy always says.
Sega’s “House of the Dead: Overkill” has that, according to the Guinness Book of World Records Gamer’s Edition. The famous bar-bet-solving publication says “Overkill” for Nintendo’s Wii console lives up to its name in the number of swear words contained within — 189 uses of the f-word alone, or about one per minute throughout the game.
The “House of the Dead” series is over the top with bad zombie-filled plots (or is that redundant?), but now it owns a world record — something the developers can brag to their mothers about.
And, of course, the makers, Headstrong Games, will be gunning to break their own record in the next version, because the pursuit of excellence means never resting on your #5&@-ing laurels.
