Another “Fallout 3″ download, another failure.

This morning, the “Broken Steel” DLC, featuring the Brotherhood of Steel and its effort to dispense with the Enclave, sort of lived up to its name by suffering from a download error that kept PC and Xbox 360 users from installing and using it.

The last Game Guy heard, “Broken Steel” was taken down for repairs from Games for Windows Live and Xbox Live. No word yet on when it will go back up.

This is the second DLC failure for “Fallout 3″ since March. Back then, it was “The Pitt” that failed to work properly and was pulled from distribution. The withdrawal lasted about a day, but people who installed the updated version continued reporting performance issues with the game in subsequent weeks.

Another distro of “The Pitt” went out early last month to address the recurrent glitches.
