Expect a holy outcry over ‘Antichrist,’ the video game
David Sheets
St. Louis Post-Dispatch

A movie with graphic depictions of sexual violence and abuse appears headed for the game console.

“Antichrist,” written and directed by Lars von Trier, recounts the disturbing tale of a couple who retreat to the woods after the death of their child and wind up confronting intense spiritual and physical challenges. The film has stirred a pot full of controversy since it appeared at Cannes earlier this year for scenes of brutality that would have made Torquemada blanch.

Naturally, a game named “Antichrist” won’t wash with parents, or very many retailers, so the developers working with the film’s production company, Zentropa, have retitled it “Eden.” The date of its debut is speculation at this point.

But not its impact. In an interview with MTV, game director Morten Iversen sounded ready to import as much controversy from the film to the game as possible.

“Dead kids, nudity, graphic violence. It will be a very controversial game,” Iversen said.

No dobut about that. Good luck with the marketing plan, Morten.
