A place to go for gaming addiction
Do you park in front of a game console until day and night are almost indistinguishable? Is it easier to describe the Little Sisters in “BioShock” than your own children?
Then maybe you need the reStart Internet Addiction Recovery Program, a new treatment facility that addresses all kinds of online addictions, including excessive gaming.
The six-bed facility in Fall City, Wash., not far from Microsoft’s headquarters, is considered the first of its kind in the nation. But if you need to go, be ready to pony up: a 45-day treatment program can cost $14,500.
To test whether you qualify as an addict, review the program’s Signs & Symptoms of Computer & Internet/Gaming Addiction. Three to four yes responses suggest abuse; five or more suggest addiction.
