Next month, “Wii Fit” shapes up and Nintendo hardware will sport a little more color.

An update to the popular exercise game, titled “Wii Fit Plus” and due for retail on Oct. 4, will feature about a dozen new exercises, and six more balance games and yoga activities, as well as customized workouts for specific areas of the body or specific time intervals.

You’ll even be able to use “Wii Fit Plus” to weigh your pets.

“Plus” will replace the current “Wii Fit” at retail and come bundled with a Wii Balance Board. Those folks who have “Fit” already can purchase the “Plus” disc separately. The entire bundle will cost $99.99; the disc alone, $19.99.

Nintendo also announced today it will dip the Nintendo DSi handheld system in two new colors starting Sept. 13. Besides black and blue, DSi now will have a white model and a pink model. Expect to continue forking over a fair amount of green for the device, however; the price will remain at $169.99.

Other color changes involve the Wii remote and nunchuk, which have been white since the system’s debut in late 2006. Later this year, around time for holiday shopping, alternative black models will appear. The Wii MotionPlus expansion accessory for the remote is expected to come out in black, too.
