More brain teasers are coming soon for Nintendo’s handheld console. Apparitions will show up not long afterward.

Atari announced today it will release “Puzzler World” for DS systems in early December. The sequel to “Puzzler Collection” contains over 1,000 games such as Sudoku, Wordsearch, Crossword, Link-a-Pix and Spot the Difference to entertain players for hours or just a few minutes.

Besides the game’s menu items are a number of unlockable and bonus challenges. “Puzzler World” also is said to feature improved handwriting recognition. (And if it can decipher Game Guy’s chicken-scratch scrawl, that will be a major accomplishment indeed.)

“Puzzler World” initially was promised for North American release earlier this month, but Atari pushed it back to Dec. 8 for the holiday shopping season. The game will sell for $19.99 and be available for download on PC as well.

Later, perhaps all the way back to next Christmas, Majesco Entertainment will bring out the specter-speckled “Ghostwire: Link to the Paranormal,” made especially for the camera-enabled DSi system.

In “Ghostwire,” players use the DSi’s built-in digital cameras to detect and capture paranormal activity lurking around them in their environment. A special “ghost tuner” picks up supposed invisible activity and lets players communicate with it and even manipulate it on the DSi’s screens.

Factors such as time of day and light level will present unique challenges, making “Ghostwire” a potential 24/7 attention-grabber.

“Ghostwire” is being developed by A Different Game. Price and an exact release date were not available as of today, but anyone interested in the title can keep up with developments on Twitter @ghostwiregame.
