Low-priced games are plentiful this holiday season

At a time when $60 games are intimidating holiday shoppers, the folks at Bitmob have compiled a list of the best low-budget games available.

The titles listed are chiefly for play on PC, and most aren’t brimming with the high-res beauty of better-known console games. Still, if the goal this Christmas is to keep the children occupied, the list provided by Bitmob ought to do exactly that.

The four-day report starts off with a two-part section on free games, followed by a couple of installments about titles costing less than $10.

Take a look at Bitmob’s list and report back to Game Guy. Tell him which games you like, or dislike, and why. Though, you must admit, free games are hardly worth a complaint.

i used to think that $60 games were a total rip off, but then i remembered back to when i was a kid i saved up and saved up and saved up and bought Turok: Dinosaur Hunter for the N64 at the low, low retail price of $79.99. yeesh! $60 is at least better than that, but some games still aren’t worth that. lego star wars? okay don’t get me wrong that game is a lot of fun, but not worth $60. halo 3? yeah okay i’ll pay $60 for that one…

my favorite budget game of all time has to be Portal, though…
