Shearwater charter school approved by state board

The state board of education unanimously approved today a city charter school for dropouts.
Shearwater Education Foundation, the brainchild of Wash U grad Stephanie Krauss, is targeting pregnant moms, homeless teens, emancipated foster care youth, and students who leave school early.
It aims to open in the fall of 2010 within Forest Park Community College’s city campus, off Highway 40, with easy access to Metro trains.
