St. Dominic High School expands to accomodate growing number of students
St. Dominic High School in O’Fallon, Mo. recently broke ground for its new $8.25 million multi-purpose facility that will house a gym and performing arts center.
When the original gym was built in the 1960s, the Catholic high school had 288 students. Today, St. Dominic has 746 students, up from 610 during the 1996-1997 school year. The new gym will provide much needed space, school officials say.
Donations from the St. Louis Archdiocese, alumni, parents, faculty/staff/students and friends of the school are paying for the project. Construction on the 45,000 square-foot-building is scheduled to be complete in spring 2010. The school continues to raise money to fully furnish the facility.
