Burroughs School scores coup; lands Wash U director Tarbouni
Just got this in my inbox from the folks at John Burroughs School, in Ladue.
Nanette Clift Tarbouni, director of undergraduate admissions and recruitment at Washington University, has been named director of college counseling at John Burroughs School, effective July 1. She will succeed Andy Abbott who will become Burroughs’ next head of school at the end of this school year.
Tarbouni joined the Washington University admissions team in 1983 and became its head in 1995. She supervises all of the admissions officers and oversees all aspects of recruitment and selection.
At Burroughs, she will lead a team of four other counselors who serve juniors and seniors in their college search.
Tarbouni graduated from Newcomb College of Tulane University (New Orleans) in 1980, after which she served as an academic counselor at Tulane and later as an academic advisor at University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Lucky Burroughs! I used to work with Nanette at WU — she is a great colleague, director and administrator. What did Burroughs have to pay to take her away from WU?!?! 1983?!
