St. Philippine Duchesne Catholic school on lockdown
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
A police manhunt has led officials to lock down St. Philippine Duchesne Catholic School in Florissant, according to a statement just released by the archdiocese.
School officials said they normally keep outside doors locked during the day, but took the extra precaution of moving recess and gym class indoors today as well, said Principal Kenneth Morr, in excerpts of a letter released by the archdiocese, set to go to parents today.
“We have not discussed the situation with the children,” Morr said in the letter, “and the school day has proceeded normally.”
The school used an automated phone service to reach parents this morning.
