Top chef of the cafeteria? Francis Howell students will compete for title
Sodexho, the food service provider for Francis Howell schools, has asked students to bring their cooking skills to the cafeteria in the inaugural Culinaire Extraordinaire Challenge.
Five family and consumer science students from each Francis Howell High School will be selected to plan, prepare and serve a three-course menu for 20 people using only the ingredients provided to them. Contestants will have two hours to create their meal. Judges will consider taste, nutrition and presentation.
The event is planned for Dec. 12. Students will prepare their meals from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. After judging, samples of the food will be available for spectators.
