Shout out for teacher Jen Stephens
Just a quick attaboy to Jennifer Stephens, left, who was named Ferguson-Florissant’s teacher of the year yesterday.
Stephens is a reading teacher in the north St. Louis County district.

Stephens’ commitment to her students and the community she serves is reflected in her teaching style and doesn’t stop at the schoolhouse door. She is a very involved member of the Ferguson neighborhood where she lives and volunteers many hours in the local community.
Ferguson Middle School Principal Susan Kelly calls Stephens an “exceptional colleague” who is never too busy to nurture an existing relationship or build a new one.
A 12-year veteran of the Ferguson-Florissant School District, Stephens exemplifies the district’s values of treating each student as though they are our own child.
