Get answers to your city school questions — and free breakfast — at Vashon High School this Saturday.

St. Louis Public will hold its final long-range planning community forum from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, at Vashon High, 3035 Cass Avenue.

Leaders will spend the first couple of hours explaining the district’s focus for the next few years.

The second part will let anyone ask any question — and they’ll get an immediate answer.

Here’s more from the district’s release:

Richard Gaines, Chairman of the Comprehensive Long Range Plan Committee and a member of the St. Louis Public Schools Special Administrative Board, will serve as the moderator for the summit. This wrap-up summit will include two informative components.

Session one will offer a progress report on the SLPS’s Comprehensive Long Range Plan. This will feature an update on all 30 MSIP or Quality Standards identified during the creation of the Comprehensive Long Range Plan, including the “12 most critical and urgent objects” as identified in the plan.

The second session will provide an open question and answer session where attendees will have the opportunity to ask any and all questions and get straight answers from district leaders such as Mr. Gaines and Superintendent Dr. Kelvin Adams.

A complimentary continental breakfast will be served at 8:15 a.m. with the Summit beginning at 9:00 a.m. Childcare will be provided on-site for ages 1-12. In addition, provisions for transportation are being arranged. For more information please call 314-345-2367 or visit the website www.slps.org.

What a great idea. I made a suggestion to this effect a couple of years ago. No one wanted to listed. I’ve left the district.
