Wentzville School Districts gets nearly $500,000 in federal grant money for physical education
Physical education in the Wentzville School District will get a boost with nearly half a million dollars in federal grant money.
Wentzville is the only school district in Missouri to receive this grant, which can be used towards equipment, staff and teacher training, according to the U.S. Department of Education. They were awarded $484,105.
The Carol M. White Physical Education Program awarded grants to 73 public schools and community-based organizations in 25 states.
Grant awards were announced in July. No districts on the Illinois side of the St. Louis metro area were selected.
