Hollywood: Obama not a celebrity . . .

From the LA Times: “(I)ndustry types say the ad is wrong: In the Hollywood lexicon, Obama is not a celebrity. He’s a rock star. (Note to McCain strategists: That’s the difference between Jessica Simpson and Bono.) “

Star20,

Great, thanks for actually articulating yourself. Obama’s energy plan can be found here: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/energy/ . Since Obama like the vast majority of scientists believes that global warming is real and is in part caused by human activity, I assume this also addresses your worry about the level of the oceans.

His health care plan can be found here: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/healthcare/

Now, even though you (Star20) will probably disagree with him, I think you’ll find that his positions are hardly “empty” or “vapid,” since they are in fact quite detailed.

And BobZ, the question was “what issues has Obama not talked about in sufficient detail?”, not “What would BobZ make Obama say in his fantasy world?” But thanks for trying.

Well now, it seem our resident neo-conservatives have run full circle in their circular arguments.

We have gone from: “He is an empty suit, all hype and hope, change and changing positions. He is smoke and mirrors. He is a stealth socialist, a closet Marxist. He is a phony. Can’t wait till a debate with McCain, provided Obama has the uh, “courage” to show up at a debate…”
through a series of disconnected “thoughts” and finally back to:
“After that, I’d like to learn more about Black Liberation Theology.”

At no point does anyone say that they have actually read anything both of the candidates has written about energy, about defense, about the economy. The simple fact is that both Senator McCain and Senator Obama really do have positions and thought out programs. But it does require the ability to read.

As to the patently idiotic statements about Senator Obama being a “marxist”, I suppose using the same criteria and standards of evidence evinced here, we can also assert with equal validity — Senator McCain is really a deep cover communist agent whose persona and activation will only begin if he becomes President. He was programmed while being held “captive” by the North VietNamese by Soviet Russian agents, and Vladimir Putin is waiting to do so.

Put that in your paranoid delusional system of circularity.

Geee, so I guess Black Liberation Theology, which is one of the basic foundations of the church Obama attended for twenty years, whose foundation is Marxism, is nothing, or Obama’s basic positions on the “social justice” of income redistribution, higher taxes on the country’s producers and a massive federal government don’t mean a thing.

Nope. Nothing to worry about here. Everybody just go back to sleep.

Star20,

Marxism is extreme right.

Nazi’s were extreme left.

If you consider Obama extreme right, which I do not in terms of what it means to be a Marxist, which did not truly originate with Marx but with Fichte and Hegel in the late 18th and 19th century Germany, it would be befitting to refer to Conservative Republicans as Nazi’s who were to the extreme life.

We in America are at a clash of political left and political right which is bringing about another political system, the hope Obama brings, a mixture of the two, taking what is good from both and leaving behind as much of the destructive elements as possible being truly neither left or right. This conflict of opposite is necessary to bring about change; you must admit the “Left” and “Right” are opposites, very destructive and harmful elements within both positions.

This is where most of us are at, caught up in the middle of this conflict wanting change because the “Left” have become so extreme in attempts to force their ways and dominance over others including its citizens to the point of acting out in evil ways appearing to like the children of the devil.

The Right has gone so far in the direction of wanting all to accept things that are a shock to their conscience that we as a society find ourselves at a cross-road.

We have many just as yourself who are calling Obama a Marxist, which is intellectually dishonest. But, we do no that people like yourself do not want to see change or attempt to do things differently, you appear to be extreme left, or shall I say Nazi like in heart and spirit if you truly believe that Obama is a Marxist, then it would appear befitting to call you extreme Left people Nazi’s.

D Walker,

You are extremely delusional. I know that doesn’t add anything to the conversation that everybody doesn’t already know. I don’t know where you get your ideas. They are so out of this world, it seems like they come from some black hole.

Adam S./D. Walker - Geez… what a long way to go to eventually call somebody you disagree with a Nazi.

Did “O” not say at 00:26 seconds that he would have preferred gradual rise in gas price (to their current high levels)? Who you gonna’ believe, the campaign’s web page writers or Obama’s own mouth?

I’ve already given you four items to work with… go at it.

Here’s five -
“Diplomacy: Obama is the only major candidate who supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions.” Good luck with that, Pal.

http://www.barackobama.com/issues/foreignpolicy/

Hmmm… So “O”’s plan is to initiate a diplomacy storm with Iran — but “O”’s problem will be that Iran has already announced their preconditions before they will begin talks with the presumptive Democratic Party nominee. How’s he gonna’ make that work? Guess he learned to deal from weakness in Community Organizer School.

Is there really a point in plowing through his web page… there’s just so much non-specific whooshing promises that aren’t backed by detailed proposals. That’s why we look at candidates’ past records, to determine what they’ve done and what they’re likely to do in the future. Hence the “empty suit” moniker for “O” — there’s no there, there.

Gallup’s Friday poll has “O” sinking to +1. How low can he go before Democratic eyeballs start shifting Hillary’s way again? A few more days will tell if “Senator Celebrity” adverts resonate.

Star20,

Nice job of shamelessly changing the subject after you got schooled on your earlier comments.

BobZ,

I didn’t say anything about Nazis, so don’t bring me into that discussion. And as for Iran’s “preconditions”, those were a response to Bush putting preconditions on negotiations with Iran. Once someone who actually understands diplomacy gets in office they can start having actual negotiations. And finally, there are a lot of details on Obama’s web pages about his policies; you clearly just don’t bother to read them.

Geez, the entire “Axis of Ignorance” is out in force!

Sick and vicious, dimstar, fishface, ….why don’t y’all get out of your mothers’ basements and see the real world.

BushMcCain has hosted Saturday Night Live, been on the Daily Show more often than Jon Stewart, been seen with Bush 41 golfing, has a beer baroness Barbie doll wife he picked up after he dumped his tragically injured wife who raised his kids while BushMcCain was a POW. McCain admits he doesn’t know anything about the economy, doesn’t know the difference between Shiites and Sunnis and who’s in al Qaeda, and claims the other guy is “out of touch” and “an elitist?”

OMG! UR stupid!

BobZ,

Now please never again call me a liberal. Hopefully you can see now why I am neither Liberal or Conservative. I do not nicely fit into either category and that is a good thing because they both have their own set of unique self-serving demons.
