On Nov. 4, voters in the St. Louis metro area will choose more than 70 legislators to represent them in in the respective House of Representatives in Missouri and Illinois. The charts linked below list the candidates in contested races in both states, as well as those who are running uncontested.

Missouri residents can find out their legislative district by visiting the Missouri Senate website and entering their nine-digit ZIP code.

Illinois residents can find their legislative districts at the Illinois elections website.

On the charts linked below, boldface indicates the candidate is endorsed by the Post-Dispatch. An asterisk (*) indicates an incumbent. An (L) indicates the Libertarian Party candidate; (C), the Constitution Party; and (I), an Independent.

Why did they make charts? All they have to do is say that they endorse everyone with a “D” in front of their name on the ballot. That’s a lot simpler and a lot more cost effective than making up little pie charts and graphs and stuff. Of course, since they stopped reporting real news or actually covering candidates, there’s plenty of extra time now to make pretty little charts and graphs.

Jotte over Kirkton seems a strange choice. Ditto not picking Manning in St. Charles, although neutrality when Parkinson is the incumbent may say something about him.

Ahhh..I feel better. I voted early since I’ll be out of town for work on election day. Looks like I voted correctly — I voted contrary to the Post’s recommendations!

ps - Kristy Manning was endorsed by PD for the 16th District, they just messed up the spreadsheet and didn’t bold her name. Otherwise it would say no preference. It was correct in the printed version in the paper.

Why Joette or Kirkton? Joette is a conservative Republican. I do not understand that pick.

Timothy W. Jones in Eureka. Is he the same Tim Jones that types OBAMAMESSIAH all over the blog zones. If so, why would the PD choose him. Weber is a weak. Well I would choose the weak one anyday. We need change, every incumbant should be voted out.
